I've heard about this kind of thing happening at the wheel so when a bunch of us turned up from BMWcc Scotland a couple of years back, the staff were very nervous. We managed to convince them that we weren't boy racers (I'm 46 for gods sake) and they were cool. None of us were doughnut monkeys (except in the cafe) and it was a good day. Guys, I remember a pal of mine bought an E46 Coupe some years ago and had this problem. The fix was to replace the lock mechanism as the garage said they go "Lazy" and its common on E46's. It fixed the problem for the time she had the car. HTH

Mate, I have the same issue with my car and OEM discs. I suspect that the new discs are actually fine but its the thrust arms that are worn, apparently its common.

I meet regularly with guys from another BMW forum I'm on. Always a good laugh and nice people too.
