  1. Hi all. Technician from Scotland here. If anyone needs any help or advice feel free to get in touch with me. Thanks
  2. Various n47 Diesel engine parts. Feel free to get in touch with anything you require. Thanks
  3. Can't confirm if that model has them. What engine is in it? Not a major job, inlet manifold off, fit the blanking kit and then back on. Obviously with the manifold off cover the inlet ports up to stop any foreign objects getting down there.
  4. Just the battery going flat with the inactivity. If the car isn't used regularly then it's worth getting a small battery charger to keep it topped up when not being used.
  5. If the car has stop start function from the factory then the only way to deactivate it is through re programming. Any dme faults stored will disable the function. Even if say a glow plug fault is stored then the stop start won't work.
  6. It's programmed into the ecu. Then when all the required conditions are met the stop start function will work. Any dme related fault codes stored will stop the function working. Other things that affect it are things like temperature, battery charge, etc
  7. You might be able to find a cheap one on places like eBay. You need a obd2 code reader to read your car
  8. Charge the battery fully then leave the car to sit and go to sleep. The sleep cycle is 6 hours long. Then retest the fault. The stop start function won't operate if any dme fault codes are stored so maybe worth a diagnostic check. Where are you based mate?
  9. Yes sounds like a timing chain fault. Any lack of performance or lights on dash? Where you based about mate?
  10. Check for diagnostic codes stored. Possible air flow fault. If the code is a air flow code possible that the engine is " coked " up.
  11. Run the car up to operating temp and then take the level plug out ( Allan key screw but can't remember the size ). No oil should come out but use a piece of paper and check where the oil level is at. If it not near the level plug hole then top up. Then clean the suspected leak area and drive then recheck the leak
  12. Not got a BMW yet.... Looking to buy one I the near future. Probably a slightly older 1 series. Thanks for the welcome and I'm here to offer help and advice anytime use need it
