  1. I agree but when you look back to the E36 4 door it shares a lot pf the lines with your E90, very very nice cars both! Stephen
  2. Sorry to hear that Francesca, how did they get the keys? Stephen
  3. That's what you call a great effort Stephen
  4. E46 M3s on the limiter are a hard act to follow, just pure music! Stephen
  5. Glad your getting it sorted out Ian Regards Stephen
  6. Great looking car Jamie they go well and are rewarding. Any reasonable garage will have a launch code reader and I would have thought no more than an hours labour would be enough to sort out the mirror and give you the Bluetooth number. Stephen
  7. Hi Jamie am guessing you have no owners manuals? It will not play dvds it will only read your sat nav disc. The mirror is meant to move down in reverse, its to aid you when reversing and your 330 will have reverse parking sensors. Am guessing you have no telephone book with the car as the 4 digit number is located in that, if not the four digit number is on a sticker on the Bluetooth unit in the boot beneath the satnav unit or can be read with a launch code reader.. The door cards are easy taken off with just a few basic tools. Cant help with a recomendation for speakers or a new tv tuner. Enjoy your car and welcome to the forum Stephen
  8. Freelander?? Rover K Series??? Am not sure theres need for language like that tho!!!!! Hope you washed your hands! Stephen
  9. Hi Steve you have 4 sensors both in the front and rear bumpers, it only take 1 sensor to be faulty to break the circuit, PDC is standard on an E53. In needs putting on a launch code reader to see which sensors are faulty and there is no need to buy them from BMW you can buy them on e-bay for around £70 for a pack of four. Enjoy your new wheels mate. Stephen
  10. Ok Becky back to basics then, pull every multi plug and look for a bad contact, a loose wire into the multi plugs, green joint etc, anything that doesn't look right tidy it up trace all the wires back to the loom check for any breaks, chaffs, shorts etc. Are you really sure that pipe I told you about is 100%?. Stephen
  11. Becky theres an air intake hose that runs from the airflow meter to the side of the throttle body which splits into two parts, part of the hose is corrugated and I have seen them split in the corrugated part and where it seperates into two parts, even a minor hole will give the symptoms you explain, it would also explain the cam sensor code and lambda code. Stephen
  12. Hi Sam it looks real nice with the 19s and sun protection glass, just sets it off. Stephen
  13. Hi Piers the 335d is a nice car hope you enjoy it Regards Stephen
  14. Think those speed humps may have done a back spring mate, just put your hand under the wheel arch and feel around the bottom of the spring if its broken a spring then theres a good chance its lying at the bottom. Regards Stephen
  15. Hi all thought I would post a thread that may prove helpful to some of you. At work we took back a Mini Cooper S in a P/X and normally we just put them to auction as anything with a Mini badge is just a bottomless pit of money to recondition to get ready for sale but this was a nice one with a great spec and history but it suffered the usual R53/R56 complaints, IE running like a bag of cac, it doesn't matter if its the normally aspirated 1.6 or supercharged S they all suffer from the worst carbonisation of anything on the road, IE running rough, flat spots, bogging down at junctions, kangaroo petrol and an ECU full of fault codes. The cure is to get the head off and a full decoke, throw away the inlet manifold and replace with a new one, but Minis have a limited profit margin and its just not cost effective for us to do but this one was to good to auction so I decided to try some of the new tech that's come to the fore recently. Mini dealers now will do a decoke using eggshells so I thought I would give the local robber a phone and get a price but at £650 it wasn't viable for us to consider but whilst on an American tuning forum I saw lots of threads regarding Terraclean and all that I read was very positive, but having seen so many crap addatives and so called miracle fixes over the years I wasn't convinced. I went on youtube to find out more info and found Edd China off Wheeler Dealers doing a Teraclean service on an old XK Jaguar and he seemed sold on it so thought that's good enough for me, found the UK website for the product put in my postcode and found that my local service agent was just 10 miles away, gave the guy a call and made a booking. The service took around an hour and cost £128 inc Vat, I watched it all happen and it was all very professional, he was more than happy to answer any question I asked, he showed me the machines required to do the servicing (one for petrol engines and one for diesels) he showed me the products used in the process, I think he could tell I was still not quite convinced but he was smugly confident I could tell. Ok now for the run home and straight away I could tell this is a vast improvement from the journey up and crawling out of the city the car had lost the staggering and jerking it had on the way up, it sounded smooth with no misfire from the exhaust and it was certainly way more pleasant to drive at slow speed but once on the dual carriageway I was really gob smacked, it pulled like a train, no hint of a flat spot under full throttle, slowed it down to 50mph in 6th gear and gave it full throttle and it was smooth and pulled well until the revs got up and it started to fly, and if any of you know about a coked up Mini then you know they just cant do that, so in short it worked a treat at a fraction of the cost of a decoke. I have booked my X5 in for next week, not because its got a fault but as a preventive caution, its a 9 year old diesel with 67k so I will see if I notice a difference and let you know but a word of CAUTION to all, if your car has a running fault then research your FAULT CODES, if your EGR or DPF is blocked then its already to far gone, if your car has a broken piston ring, shagged turbo or screwed injectors this is no cure, it is a SPRING CLEAN for the injectors all things combustion, EGR valves DPF filters CATs exhaust etc so do your research first to see if you may be wasting money on something that wont be of benefit to your particular problem. Regards Stephen
  16. Hi John think you will have to get the underside tray off and see whats what, it must be dropping but your not seeing it because of the tray, if once you remove the tray and the bottom half of the engine is a mess get some brake cleaner and give it a good spray down and a clean up then look for your leak. Stephen
  17. Hi Sam am afraid theirs a lot that it could be, get a jack and nip one wheel off at a time and just have a root around, could be a broken spring, a retaining clip may have come loose and a rear pad could be moving around in a caliper, a worn axle bush or a stone guard come loose from a rear disc etc etc, am afraid no easy answer mate, hope your enjoying your 530 otherwise. Stephen
  18. The 325d is a great car but my option would be manual Stephen
  19. Then its just a case of pulling it all apart, get a pair of mole grips on the end of the cable to open then replace as required Stephen
  20. Your X5 has a bank of lights located in the speedo head, it has 5 green lights and 4 red lights, all X5s are what they call condition based servicing, its very possible that one that has been driven with respect can do up to 24k, your service book will have 3 service options, "oil service" Inspection !" inspection 2", just do the next that's due in the book. Stephen
  21. Is the handle broken or is the bonnet not realising? If its a case of the bonnet not realising pop out the bonnet grills and soak everything in WD40 get a pair of mole grips and work the levers and it will open, then just clean it all up and grease it. Stephen
