  1. Recent work on Vert includes Water pump which if you don`t know is a doddle to fit on a 330 petrol. 45 mins job done. Rear Discs & pads then N/S front brake caliper. New bonnet & Boot struts.

Front wheel bearing next when i get a better idea of which one it is? Yes i know to chuck it left right etc but it`s not 100% yet.

  2. As title,

BMW 330Ci M Sport Auto for sale. Owned 9 years & never let us down. Silver with Black heated leather. FSH main dealer & Indy 124K . 8months MOT 1 advisory for corrosion on the rear brake flexi pipe joints(pipe is ok). 1 pdc does`nt work.

In very good condition bar the usual bubbling on the front wings. Alloy`s need a re furb, i left this with our pot hole winter as didnt make sense to ruin them straight away. I even have a spare front alloy just in case(comes with car).Recent water pump ,bonnet & Boot struts & Power steering reservoir. Always had Castrol or Shell oil. Gearbox service (£500) done with BMW oil & filter.  Lovely quick car (Auto is Switchable to manual)& will be sorry to see it go. I`ve always maintained this car as it has to get me to an airport so if its needed something it`s been done. Has Heated Electric memory seats,Xenon`s,Cruise,Tyre PSI monitor Electric windows standard radio with 6 Cd Changer in the boot. Spare wheel used once. Tool kit. Tyre`s are Continental, not cheap rubbish with between 3 & 5mm left in them.  Also comes with the wind jammer for when the roofs down. Brand new rear Discs(Brembo) but not fitted them yet. Nice reliable cheap fun! £3,250. Location Telford Shropshire.

  3. Check connections on the back of the radio & in the left rear panel by the cd stack if you have one?  Maybe re boot it by disconnecting the battery & see if it bursts into life?

As Greydog says you need to give a bit more info Jim.

  4. I had this happen to my mirrors recently. I gave them a gentle dose of WD40 behind the mirror & they have been fine for 3 weeks now. I only tried this because an indy garage mechanic told me never to fire a jet wash into the mirror housing when cleaning the car. Ive never done that in the 7 years ive owned it.

    Hopefully a cheap fix.........lol

    Hi Mick Happy New Year

Shame that we don't get feed back especially on things like this that can be a great help to others.

I still can't get may head around how so much Swarf/metal particles get right through the system, the filter seems to do nothing?

    Dave

Yes Happy New Year to you,

Exactly what my Indy said. When he showed me a sample of fuel he`d poured out the fuel rail i was amazed it got passed the filter. Tbh the particles were small but even so ,very scary! This 118 was 9 years old but they had seen it on one only 5, so with Christine`s car being only 3 to 4yrs & probably? FDSH at BMW you cant really say its an age/degradation type of problem. I hope she enlightens us soon. Maybe non genuine parts have been fitted(filter) or injector work to cause this??

  6. Wonder how she got on with this?

A month ago i popped in to my local Indy & they had a 118d with the very same problem. The car was was a 2011 i think, dunno miles or history on it . I was just horrified to see the swarf in the system. They had seen it before though but in the 18/2.0L engines.

  7. Hi Terry,

To help the boffins out ....what engine petrol/diesel do you have??? Do you have actual codes?? It looks like you wrote this at 200mph so take a deep breath & start again lol. Im sure some one on here can point you in the right direction.

  8. Is it just me that updates this??😂

My 268,000m Touring needed a Drivers window regulator,Quite easy to fit.  New bonnet cables & catches as the catches had rusted up & guides had broken which snapped the cable.  A new radiator as the Hella radiator lasted 5 years before going banana shaped, didnt leak though. Trying a Nissin one this time. Bonnet catches were from a tat yard so was the window reg. cheap fixes just time consuming.

  9. As title & just a bit of fun,

This is my e46 330d manual. 262,000 & counting. I foolishly want to get 300,000 (in 7k ive covered 200k in it)out of just because ive never done it before. Ive seen them with 350,000 on so i know mines not going to be the highest mileage but id like to see what other people have covered without a major rebuild!

  10. On that run Greydog id use the Toll!!! Pays for itself as im not stuck in a jam around J7 TO 10 M6 :wallbash: &  does wonders for your blood pressure or my left ear doesnt get a bashing from SWMBO in the passenger seat!!!!!!!!:yahoo:

  11. Hi Trevor,

Yep ive now looked into these too. I never knew before that i will have to fit a certain type as my car is fitted with Harmon Kardon so it has to be compatible with DSL. Most systems i looked at wont work with it & the standard sound is rubbish from mine. All mumbo jumbo to me lol but im learning! Some of the kit i can buy is worth as much as the car!!!! lol Every day is a school day as the saying goes!

  12. Hi Gents, 330d SE 2003 Touring.

As title but "bad" is a polite word for it as its crap lol. The radio is OEM never messed with. Its the old school cassette model with Cd Changer in the boot. Ive lived with crap radio reception for errr 10 years & 180,000+ miles lol but ive had enough.

Has anyone, or can you fit another aerial to the car using the cars standard kit? I know i could plug in the back of the radio & run a lead to the nice shiny new rust free wings drill a hole etc but i don`t want to! Would it be possible to fit one of those magnetic Shark fins to the roof then run a wire into the car down the side of the tailgate? or would you have to cut a hole in the roof for a shark fin/Antenna, drop the headlining (yuk) etc BUT where would the antenna wire have to be taken to, the head unit or is there something in the boot to connect to???  I would like a cheap fix LOL as ive looked at Eonon Dynavin DAB thingys which look great & do all sorts but im thinking if i cant get a good radio reception to start with i would be wasting my cash!

Im not too hot on ICE lol so reply`s in English please lol.
