  1. That's not a bad price for all those parts being fitted...result !
  2. Hi Roger...welcome to the Forum! Sounds like it needs some WD40 as something maybe sticking? When it locates and you turn it surely it should snap into place...if not then the mechanism maybe sticking slightly. Not sure if I'd want to use to tow with if I'm not satisfied that its not secure. Check eBay for replacement ones, there are some on there but they're not cheap! Anyone else know what the issue is and a solution?
  3. Hi Andy...welcome to the Forum! It's good that you have both types of Beemer...hardtop and soft top...both are superb cars. Do you have any pictures of them to post up on here? Good luck with the Z4 repairs...let us know how you get on with it Cheers, Trevor
  4. Best bet is to take it in for a scan to see what the codes are for and go from there really. Hopefully, nothing too expensive
  5. Hi Javaid...welcome to the Club! I don't know of any specialist garages in your area that I could recommend but if it's just a service and brake pads, I think you should be able to find someone local who can carry out those tasks competently and at a reasonable price. Maybe worth looking for a Bosch Service Centre or something similarly branded? Let us know how you get on Cheers, Trevor - Admin
  6. Hi Sundeep...welcome to the forum! I'm not entirely sure but I think they are an option on the Z4 as well Let us know how you get on with acquiring a 1 series Beemer Cheers Trevor - Admin
  7. Hi Vincent, I believe the Vanos is a bit of a s*d to set up...and definitely worth using the special tools to set up the cams with. Let us know how you get on with it Cheers, Trevor - Admin
  8. Hi Andrew....welcome to the Club! Glad you're enjoying your Beemer...is it fully loaded with options, manual or automatic transmission? Good to have you onboard Cheers, Trevor - Admin
  9. Hi Andy...welcome to the club! Not entirely sure which component could be causing the noise but I wonder if any other members have experience this before. Has it just started or has it been since something has been disturbed, say during work on the engine for example? One other cause may be the Vanos system (if fitted)...and if so, maybe just a case of replacing the engine oil to quieten down...just a thought! Cheers Trevor - Admin
  10. I would agree totally with Greydog with his diagnosis and rectification....great advice! Generally, the first port of call with any electrical diagnosis is to start with the Battery and check it's condition. If you can get your Mechanic to carry out a Heavy Duty Discharge Test on it to determine the overall health of the battery and if it is dubious, replace it. Let us know how you get on with it. Cheers, Trevor
  11. Hi John I can't imagine you have knocked any switches to bring about the problem. Could be the boot lock solenoid has failed possibly. Does the lock solenoid make any noises when operating with the key? Let us know how you get on with it. Cheers Trevor
  12. Hi Dave....welcome to the Club! How you getting on with the 730? Cheers Trevor
  13. Hi Denny...welcome to the Club! The CI is a great car...do you have any pictures of it to upload? Regards Trevor
  14. Hi Dave... I think the only real solution is to find where the moisture is entering the headlamp and seal it before trying to dry it out. Not sure the best way to do it, but maybe reseal the lens to body seal by applying silicon sealant externally around where the two parts join? Anyone got any ideas?
  15. Hi David Certainly a case of better safe than sorry...money well spent in the long run I would imagine. Did you notice any difference afterwards? (apart from the lighter wallet)
  16. Hi Paul...welcome to the Forum! I can only this reference to the wiper blades for your car...are you sure he sold you the same ones? https://www.boschwipers.co.uk/?make=2434&model=2489&year_id=2493&s=&post_type=product&action=vpf-search Anyway, I'm glad you're enjoying your Beemer. Regards Trevor - Admin
  17. Hi Dan...welcome to the Club! I'm quite positive that they always oversell the economy benefits and that the true MPG return is quite a bit less, especially around town. Hopefully, one or two members may have the answer to your query. Anyone??
  18. Good diagnosis...the Wiggle Test as it was known as at Ford. Batteries are quite reasonably priced at Halfords, especially the Premium range (much better quality)
  19. Oh dear! that seems to be burning well Wonder what caused the fire?
  20. Hi Ben...welcome to the forum! How are you finding your new Beemer? Cheers, Trevor - Admin

  23. Okay, thanks...I was looking at the castle coombe website but had no listing for the event on there. I shall place the link on the forum / social media to see if it drums up any responses. Looks like a great event!
  24. Hi Luke...welcome to the club! She looks fantastic and has a real mean stance! Enjoy!
  25. HI Ray...welcome to the club! Looks like a good car to start with and should be good fun modifying it into your preferred style. I reckon a decent set of secondhand late model alloys would really enhance the look Keep us posted with piccies of the improvements over time. Regards Trevor - Admin
