  1. Keep us updated...am intrigued to know the answer
  2. Lotus Carlton....awesome car!!! definitely one of my favourites from that era
  3. Sounds like quite an ambitious project...sorry, don't know the answer. But surely they will have more stock in the near future so may be worth waiting?
  4. I assume that if it was a blocked DPF the warning lamp would indicate this...unless there is an issue with that? I'm sure there must be something in the system memory to indicate a malfunction....definitely first place I would check
  5. sounds like a logical cause...being in an enclosed environment as temperature changes I suppose will cause a certain amount of condensation and then leads to corrosion.
  6. Seems like it is a common problem which can affect other models also...how it comes loose in the first place is another question
  7. I would agree with Dave as it does sound like some trunking may have been dislodged during fitment of the radio. Worth just pulling the head unit out and checking behind it to see what has occurred. Cheers, Trevor
  8. Hi Jim....welcome to the Forum Thought I would move your post here so it could be seen/responded to Good to have you onboard Cheers, Trevor
  9. Hi Ben...welcome to the Forum Post up some piccys of your Beemer if you like Good to have you onboard Cheers, Trevor
  10. I agree with Dave's diagnosis...looks like the Anti-Roll Bar mounting bracket and if the threaded holes are clear then it may just be a case of running some new bolts in and tightening it down....should noticeably handle a lot better afterwards.
  11. Certainly cold enough this morning...we actually had a smattering of snow this morning....first time in 5 years that sunny Bournemouth has had snow.
  12. Hi Kevin....welcome to the Forum Good to have you onboard Cheers, Trevor
  13. very nice....looks the business !
  14. Hi Bob...welcome to the Club I would highly recommend a reputable Android aftermarket system and see what is available in the way of fascia and plug adapters to make installation easy and error-free. I personally believe that the latest systems offer so many functions that way exceed the OE equipment but bear in mind I did state 'reputable' make (e.g. Sony) as the cheaper Chinese systems are very poor quality in comparison. Let us know how you get on with it all Cheers, Trevor
  15. Hi Stuart....welcome to the Club The servo issue I would say is either a vacuum leak which is affecting the servo operation or it is a faulty servo unit. Either way I would resolve it before it gets any worse. The oil burning issue may be worth changing the grade and see whether that makes much of a difference. Also clean out any breathers you can find on the engine. Good to have you onboard Cheers, Trevor
  16. Hi Terry...welcome to the Forum Looking forward to seeing some pics of the new Bimmer...sounds like it has the perfect spec level Cheers, Trevor
  17. Hi Ian just a few suggestions....thinking logically but may be way off the mark....has the rear screen been tinted?
  18. wasn't sure of the size/depth of puddle but worth checking the air filter to see if there is any water ingress
  19. Hi Daz I hate to be the bearer of bad news but it may be a case of the engine suffering a hydraulic lock (this is where the engine sucks up the water through the inlet and when all the valves are closed the piston comes up and hits the water in the cylinder....as water cannot be compressed it then bends the con-rod). An easy way to check this would be to carry out a compression test on the cylinders and if one (or more) is low then this is the situation. However, I have dealt with many water ingestion faults over the years and it is something that the insurance company will pay out for if you have comprehensive cover so worth having it checked first and then maybe contact your insurance company. Let us know how you get on Cheers, Trevor
  20. Hi Colin...welcome to the Forum Good to have you onboard Cheers, Trevor
  21. Hi Colin....welcome to the Forum As Greydog has mentioned, it is very difficult to pinpoint the exact issue without carrying out a scan on the ECU memory to see what faults are stored or even looking at the live data when the fault occurs to narrow down the possible causes. My first thoughts are fuel pressure dipping slightly but again, live data would show this occurring. Let us know what you find out Cheers, Trevor
  22. Hi Kevin....welcome to the Forum She certainly looks in great condition. I also believe that the pre 2000 cars were made especially well and avoided most of the faults that affect the later cars. You shouldn't have too many issues with it....hopefully! Cheers, Trevor
  23. and to you Dave....have a great Christmas and thanks for all you have done this year for the Forum. Cheers, Trevor
