  1. No its not science its fact, mine is a 55 plate E60 and these figures are achieved by a remap not a plug in.take a look at their web site or Superchips as they both tell marginally different stories but almost the same. these guys at Custom Tuning have a 4 whell rolling road up to 1000bhp and they can just do the remap there and then, mine took 45 mins.
  2. guys, i can report back on my remap with Custom Tuning in Bradford.took my 530d from 231bhp to 265bhp and from 490nm of torque to 560nm. the result is a much smoother delivery of power as no flat spots and the throttle response is quicker,a much improved driving experience and worth the money. special offer for Feb is £150.00 and what a difference. will sort out the fuel economy as they say it should improve as long as my driving doesn't change, yet to realise the improved economy as enjoying the power up grade way too much. before remap i averaged 39.7 mpg on mway runs and i hope to get that above the 43mpg. let you know but defo book it in for the power increase as wonderful.
  3. Guys. has anyone used one of these DAB radio aftermarket upgrades on their E60's or other BMW's?? i am considering one and ask if there is a preffered make to use.
  4. found em and asked for a quote. thanks
  5. thanks, will do. Celtic are where??
  6. i researched the fitting kit they will use and it comes with a CAN BUS type of smart box that dissables the parking sensors when connected to a trailer and other stuff i guess. it is the kit recommended by BMW so should be ok.
  7. guys,it has been recommended to get a Superchips remap or Bluefin plug in for my 530d E60, they reckon on extra 45bhp and 90nm of extra torqueaswell as better fuel economy. any one have any experience of remapping please let me know.
  8. tow hitch electrics sorted, towbar express, local mobile fitting service will fit a BMW 7 pins trailer socket all wired in for £85.00 at my house.deal done.
  9. reckon i'll contact my BMW dealer for the best way forward then. thanks
  10. guys and guru's.i have a tow bar on my 5 series E60 Touring but no electrics have been fitted by the previous owner. on a lot of newer cars there is a straight plug in module factory fitted to take the trailer wires. can anyone let me know if this is the case for mine of is there a trick to wiring these up or straight forward break into the loom as i have done many times before on older cars?? any help appreciated. thanks in advance.
  11. guys. finally got my E60 530D back after 2 weeks of faffing about with the problems when i brought it. thankfully all ok now but they have done a bodge job, the rear washer pipe was not connected and the spoiler is now all scratched, looks like they put it on the floor and accidently kicked it causing the top to become all scratched, bummer. love my car but i hate garages, they never take care and don't ever do a faultless job. no wonder i normally do all my own work. guy coming over next week to sort out the scratches so soon be perfect again.
  12. spooky and dead funny,i guess it is just as Daz says it is. it is a bit scary to think we are all so connected to the internet, big brother is watching or what???
  13. i have to say the car dealer is being extremely good so far and doing their best to resolve the issues. we'll have to keep an eye on it as things get more costly and whether he'll fund the repairs to my satisfaction. i hate the saab, its a pile of crap
  14. having recently purchased a 55 plate E60 530d Touring it is now back with the dealer after 5 days of ownership. the rear high level brake light failed, the front eyebrow LED's failed, the stereo wont tune in to my local settings and just gives a load of static and to top it off i took it for the wheels to be balanced and found both the nearside wheels to have great dents in the rims. the dealer is doing his best and has told me they are getting a specialist auto electrician guy in to look at the electrical issues. real bummer and has somewhat soured the delight of my drive. given me a 93 Saab as a curtasy car and its dreadful.never buy one of these as this one i have is fairly new and its a dog to drive. anyone else suffered similiar electrical problems??
  15. thanks, read the cd stacker needs to be programmed into the idrive and that can be a pain. having thought about it i have decided to leave well alone and just enjoy what i have.
