hi all just got my self an e36 328i and the steering wheel wont lock just keeps moving up and down the height adjustment do any one know how to fix it or what parts i need to fix it

my 328i e36 steering wheel tilt is not working it wont lock in to position just keeps moving up and down does any one know what i need to do to fix it or what part i need to buy thanks all the car is a 1999 model with tilt steering wheel ie hight adjusting any help is great thanks
