Not 100% but mine is 02 and is £294 or there abouts Manual and auto tax are the same mate im sure of that. Ive never owned an auto so I coulnt really compare, but the auto will use a tad more fuel. IMO an auto box is wasted on that car< you really need a manual to feel its benefits.

Yes Yes Yes. 2001 320d with100k looking from £1500-£2800 depending on condition, service history etc I am on my 2nd 320d but also own a 330ci, I preffer the 320ds all day long One with full service history will be a good buy. Research swirlflaps and get them blanked off. Bushes will need changing if not already done but wont cost too much. In my opinion mate, the 320d is the best value for money car on the market at the moment. Go for it, you wont regret it.

Id like it to go on coilovers but been as I carry half a kitchen and half a bathroom round with me for work it would make it impractical. Leathers, deffo leathers. I did buy it only for work and it serves its purpose really well but i miss the luxury of electric heated leathers that I have in the 330ci
