    Replace Gear Shift Knob

    Just bought my 04 54 X3. Delighted with the car. Condition A1 except gear knob which is showing some wear. Bought leather bound replacement on eBay £44, was advised it was a twist and pull by "trade seller" I also asked my local BMW dealer and they said give it a crack and it should come loose. Is it just a friction fit ? Is it bonded ? Can I do any damage by trying too hard ? Should I cut into the side of the existing item ? Any Advise please. Thanks

    Change X3 Gear Shift Knob

    Just bought an X3 sport and the only wear in the cabin is the gear knob is a bit tatty. So I bought a replacement off eBay (leather covered 6 speed) and was told by the seller it is just a twist and pull to remove old knob. I can't budge it. Any advise please.
