Local stealers are thieves and vagabonds. I bought the car from an independant specialist in Farnham, when it next needs a service I will get the codes read by local mobile chappie, do the work myself so I know its done properly, i'll sign the service manual as an "owner service" then get the local van man to counter stamp all my invoices and reset the ecu.

I always push for 12 months MOT when changing cars and wont take less than 6 months RFL. Thereafter I buy for the full year to keep the motoring costs spread round the year. Takes a bit of juggling as a 3 car family but I just look at it as another challenge I could do without!

Map (AKA Flatnav) first then plot route into Garmin and let iPhone make noises for traffic jams and new cameras as dont believe in spending £100+ on a satnav and then have to keep paying for the privelige of map updates, camera data I dont mind but an extra £60 more or less every year just just to keep up to date is a rip off.

The Police are so hot on this issue round here I wouldn't dare drink and drive! I once totalled my 535 on a country lane here in a single car accident and they still carted me off for a blood test! I told them I couldnt remember the last time I had a drink but suspect they took that the wrong way, ie UNABLE to remember!

This is now the 5th BMW I've bought, the previous 3 and 5 Series sedans were mine, the last Touring was the wifes and when it finally died it had to be replaced with a real car! Therefore she now has the E46 Convertible, and she didnt make me mow the lawn this weekend either, a right result all round.
