  1. Try the following link from Halfords: http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/categorydisplay_storeId_10001_catalogId_10151_categoryId_165581_langId_-1 I use them for reference and then use the result to continue my search. 10W/ 40 or 5W/ 40 Full or Part Synthetic We drive an '06 RS4 and that gets through a lot if oil for seemigly no reason. It is on an Audi service plan and they say the car is fine.

  11. I have had my 8 Series for over a year now and so have had to insure twice. The first time was for about £325 with 7 years and a single SP30, who hasn't? And a car write off to the tune of £23k when I parked the Mrs M5 in a tree. Though I though this low cost was a fluke it came with little restrictions. Declared mileage of under 6k per year NCD not protected, just 10 days late before they changed their policy on NC's and Claasic Car Insurance. Parked in a garage Only used for personal use. Value agreed at £10k Insurance company was, and still is, Performance Direct. 2nd year as above but the SP30 is no longer present, over 5 years ago. Renewal was at £224 (8 years NCD) Not bad for this car I think. Just over 30 years of age so not "old", in my opinion.
  12. Hello again everyone. I have done a bit more with the car. Sorry if it offends but I like it. !Orange Wheels! Not to everyones taste but I like the combo and it can be easily restored if I sell. (Not likely tho!) Door seal still in place and working well, not that is does much. The next seal I will need to look at is the sun roof. No leaks or anything just an air noise at speed. I guess a wind deflector or clip has been broken. Just looking for a diagram of the assembly to compare against?
  13. Door seals fitted now and fitted perfectly. It was a direct fit although I did not fit it. When I was having the fuel lines and brake lines fitted I thought might aswell get the same people to seal. So far I have had the following done on the car; Fuel lines (Private Garage) Brake lines (Private Garage) Passenger Side door seal (Private Garage) Rear springs (F1 Auto Centre) Rear Tyres: Continental (F1 Auto Centre) Ignition barrel keeping same key (BMW) Still to do; Interior leather re spray Master service MOT (Due in two weeks) Disks and pads replacing Water bottle replacing About half way through now and really enjoying the car. The big question is do I refurbish the AC Schnitzer Type 2 wheels or get something newer, perhaps M5 wheels?
  14. The price from BMW was for one seal only and the one from the breakers is not fitted yet as I asked for fitting instructions but none came. If there are any fitting instructions out there I'd be very grateful. Once I have some idea on how to start I'll be back with another update.
  15. I have a fault message which I thought was an easy fix. It was present when I test drove it. Gutted! The message is about the R/Fog. I thought it would have been a lamp replacement but after trying that and still no light I continued my investigation. I have tested the unit and the unit works fine. I tried the failing unit on the working side and it lit up. So the error must be on the cable loom. I think it is fuse number 3 which again I think safe guards both rear fog lights. Therefore I don't think it is the fuse. So between the fuse box and the end of the cable there is a fault. Any ideas? Much appreciated.
