iridium plugsare meant to be more effecient and better for economy plus supposed to slightly boost BHP, mine certainly runs better, feels slightly more responsive and still good on juice, only banned because i made the V70r into a sub 5.5 sec 0-60, plus spent a few more quid on it than i told her.... but i like keeping the 7 series original because she is in A1 condition but have replaced badges etc to tidy up....now just got to get a digi box to upgrade the TV......

welcome mate, +1 to Al and Dabsy, had run flats on my 05 530d sport and was told by BMW you have to replace with run flats as linked to the system and ordinary tyres would be sending alarms off every where but that was 7 year ago, so maybe there is a way of disabling the run flat system, but as far as i was aware you had to change like for like....

Same here, always wanted a 7, especially the E38 as it such a stunning looking car, absolutely love mine, got the 728i Sport 2001 and she still turns head, but as dabsy and jas say its the way they sit, lovely and straight .........having a moment like in days of thunder when the old mechanic ( name right out my head) talking to the car as he is building her .....LOL

yep she is all colour coded, sits nice and low, and the deep dish alloys look the nuts but Jas your car is really coming along, looks really nice, after selling my V70r i have been banned from all mods on the Beemer but did manage to slip in a K&N filter, and Iridium Plugs.

because mine is the sport i have the Mtech 18" low profiles with the great BMW idea of wider at the rear and slightly narrower at the front, so cant swapp round but having the mtech 18s and the sport suspension she still is so comfortable and glides lovely just hugs the corners better but i would def go with 18" as being a big car def looks nicer with bigger alloys....

yeah but just means you have the luxury of the 7, being a sport doesnt make much difference, all have the same toys and extras etc and on a 7 thats what counts, Luxury

+1 to all the aboves, i was looking for a 740 to start with but reading about the head gasket probs etc decided to get my 728i sport and absolutely love it, not bad on juice and still has a bit of get up and go. If you go to the tech guides forum, click on 7 series and i posted a site that gives you all the info on the 7 series, also a post on all the common problems but think dabsy covered most and not alot he dont know about 7 s
