  1. A lot of smoke from the burning oil I spilled on the manifold, is that safe or should I clean it off?

I it's a smaller wheel but bigger tyre, I put it on the N/S/R, but now any time I full lock, when the wheels are straight again it pulls badly to that side, any thoughts on this? I have changed the springs to some lowering springs, I couldn't live with the height the car was. If I got all the same size wheels (maybe some 16" instead of 15") and got the tracking done would that rectify this dragging after full lock problem? Thanks all and anyone who reads/responds lol.

Get the correct side wheels on and that will help ( and to be fair legally they should all be the same size on the axle)

Personally I would clean it off but i accept you wont get it all!

  2. Very good service(although I can understand why you were annoyed)

At a guess they will be claiming back from the warranty company, but they fear it will be a struggle so have just paid for the repairs to keep the customer happy and will have the battle out of sight.

I must say the BMW dealer in Northampton and the Isle Of Man are fantastic, I honestly cannot praise them enough

  3. The old M3 defo. Back when the passion was put into the cars and not concentrating on economic friendly cars because cars are about fun and the passion of driving and not feeling guilty to drive. Yes the world is in need of a greener lifestyle but I'm worried that all new cars are going to be powered with battery's. Such a sad subject to think about that your grand children might not never hear a straight six to a v12 engine. So sad. Anyway defo the older car.

My thoughts Exactly, New cars whilst they are a nice place to be you cannot beat the sound and the drive of a good "old" petrol engine!Along with steering that feels like it is connected and gives you positive feedback.

    E30 for me

  4. Yes, You need to remove the swirl flaps(google away). If these fail it can cause a lot of damage also, but this is a cheap mod and can be done in a afternoon.

I haven`t heard of different Diesel engines suffering from Cam chain problems(but I may be wrong)

However i cannot stress how robust these engines are, they are one of the best Diesels on the market. Go on ebay and type in BMW spares or repair, then go type in Vectra or Mondeo Spares or repair, Not many knackered Diesels BMWs around!
