  1. Hi, Is it possible to disconnect or disable the boot lid sensor? Had a catastrophic electrical problem with the boot lid switch / central locking and removed the dead electrics, and I'm not intending to replace them - but the dash diagram has the boot lid open warning constantly on as a result. Cheers

  4. Hello, I've just picked up a new set of alloys from Ebay, BMW type 18 (as on http://felgenkatalog.auto-treff.com/) . Everything suggests they should fit my e39 528i and yet...the bore on the alloy is about 2mm too small to fit on the hub :( There seems to be a "lip" or on the hub side of the alloy that reduces the opening bore hole by a couple of mm, do you think it could be machined / chiselled off? (see photo) Or should I just put them back on ebay? Thanks all
  5. Hi, I've noticed that the cigar lighter socket, into which my Sat Nav is connected, remains powered in all ignition key positions, even with the keys removed. Is this going to cause a drain on the battery, should I remove theplug eveet time I turn the engine off? Seems like a design flaw... thanks in advance!
  6. Hi there, Just bought my first BMW and very happy about it too, new to the forum as well. Got just on question for now - is it chain or belt driven? Worrying slightly about cam belt change costs :) It's a 1997 R-reg 528i SE with 82k miles. Many thanks in advance, Paul
