  1. Good news, BMW have agreed to fit the potential fault part. Thanks for everyone's advice. Great site Regards
  2. Good afternoon all Advice please I purchased a BMW-approved X1 2022 U11 (2023 model) diesel with 13,500 miles from a BMW dealer on 29/11/2026. After finalising the paperwork and was in the car preparing to drive away, the salesperson asked me to sign a letter (attached). As I did not have my reading glasses, I inquired about its contents. The salesperson assured me it was related to a recall that had already been addressed by them. Based on this reassurance, I signed the letter and was told a copy would be sent to me. After several follow-up calls, I eventually received a copy. Since then, I have contacted the dealership multiple times about the issue, but they have stated they will only replace the known faulty part once it fails. Before purchasing the car, I made it clear to the salesperson that I intended to tour both the EU and countries outside the EU in the car. I am now seeking advice, as I am concerned the car may not be fit for purpose, and I would not have proceeded with the purchase had I known there could be a problem with the brakes. This is the sixth BMW I have owned, and I am disappointed with the service I have received regarding this matter. I have spoken to BMW customer care but they seem to be saying it has to go wrong before they will replace the potential part. Thanks for any help /advice Barry BMW1220260304_10100025.pdf
