  1. not entirely true regarding the "sold as seen". it depends on how the receipt was worded. my mum sold a car a few years back with a dodgy 5th gear, the guy managed to get a couple hundred quid back to cover the repair bill.

    Towing With A 320D

plenty of power i know, but my main worries are if the engine gearbox and axles are up to the job in the longterm. a 3.5t car/trailer combination is bound to put lots of strain on it, dont want things to be breaking
  3. hi i'v just bought a new caravan and plan on using the '03 320d to pull it. i'v read that its an excellent tow car, but was wondering if anyone here had any experience towing with this model close to its weight limit?
  4. yeah its almost due for the oil change (in another 800 mile). would that cause this tho? i was thinking that it could be burning oil, but at idle speed theres not enough pressure to push the thick smoke out the exhaust. its used 3litres since its last oil change 16months ago. is that normal?
  5. a few times recently i'v left my '03 320d idling, due to running a 240v power inverter or tyre inflator and not wanting a flat battery. when i come to drive off there is lots of smoke out the exhaust for a few mins then returns to normal. over the years leaving other diesels idling hasnt caused me any problems at all, until this car. so my question is - is this causing any damage? or am i ok to continue?
  6. hi all recently bought a 2003 320d. thought i'd join up here to learn a bit more about them and incase i get any problems. speak to you all soon :D
