Morning Nick
Things are getting serious in the engine department, with your planned future power hike have you searched for a twin plate upgrade ?
I had a highly tuned Cosworth Sapphire in the early 90's 400+hp the clutch was Sachs unfortunately as happened in those days the Cos was stolen !! So I can't give any information on clutch life never had it long enough. It was replaced with a Lotus Carlton that was the last manual car I owned.
Good Luck keep us updated (well me really)
Dave
Thanks for the advice Dave. I will take a peek at some twin plated upgrades.

Hi all
My 135i has had a new downpipe and intercooler, and is now making 386BHP and 403ibs/foot, and I want to upgrade the clutch.
My longer term plans are to get the care to around 450bhp. Any advice on best performance cltches?
cheers

Hi Nick
Welcome to the Forum
Did the garage/tyre supply place should have reset your system? The system triggers if there is a 25% difference in tyre pressures so first check all pressures make sure they are correct, then there is a reset sequence in your hand book (or You Tube)
Dave
I got a tyres on the drive guy to do it. All tyres have 39PSI in, as done yesterday. I will look on youtube for the reset sequence. thanks

Hi
I have a 2009 BMW 135i. I got a puncture which was fixed. The thing is though, the puncture warning symbol is still on.
I've checked all tyres and they are all good.
Any clues?
cheers

Morning Nick
Welcome to the Forum
Crazy boy !! I did read an article early this year that the tuners love the N54 engine due to it's strength and forged internals.
The article mentioned the need for colder plugs? new coils? Twin Cone air intakes? The article was talking of 400+ WHP and with the turbo's upgraded even 500 HP at that stage I think your money would be better spent on drive train and brakes
It was a US article and their budget was $1500
Good Luck
Dave
Which article was it Dave?

Hi
I am new here. I bought a used BMW in August 2020 and thought I would have some fun with the N54 engine.
So, I got a CSF Intercooler and a Wagner downpipe fitted. With a remap and dyno I got 386BHP and 403lbs. I am very happy with this result, but was wondering how I can get more gains without spending £10000+??

Thanks Dave, I have opted for a downpipe. I know this is more hassle for the MOT time. But, after extensive research, this seems the more 'fun' option.

Hi guys,
I have just purchased a 2009 BMW 135i N54 and want to mod her for more power.
I have sourced a performance intercooler, but cannot for the life of me locate a N54 performance cat from a UK dealer! (I don't want a cat less pipe, cos of the MOT).
Has anyone else have these issues, or will the N55 fit the N54?
cheers

Well after much research I went for the SPEC BMW N54 SPEC-Design Single Mass Flywheels (8-Bolt) / Aluminium × 1 and the SPEC BMW N54 SPEC-Design Clutches Stage 3 from ML performance. The stage 3 clutch allows for up to 570 lbs, which is reassuring. Just need to find a reputable fitter now.....hahahah
