    thank you , i will get a new key cut and programed ,maybe a firm might do it a bit less than bmw , cheers

    the car opened doors but only that would not start, changed battery it is the same, other key works fine

    screen on car is blank no lights at all

     

  3. aa out looked all about plugged in computer ,eventually said have you another key tried that and it started. the first key opened doors but engine not starting, thought it recharged itself while plugged in , new key a national debt, dont want to open replace battery myself as bits need resolder, any companies do this or can i recharge in some form , all suggestions please ,cheers

  4. thank you Dave,  i will do as you suggest, as well as legs one was a bit weepy only a bit, also at speed braking, i get a judder maybe warped discs, cheers again for your help, best regards i will order and do in a few weeks time, when i do brake hard she still pulls up in a straight line

     

  5. thank you all, just an update, full service and swirl flaps off. MPG mixed driving town and about 3 miles on dual carriage way and 12 in town , computer says 33.4mpg and averaging 17.6 mph , she gets a blast of 30 miles each way on motorway shows 44.5 ish, no smoke . i will take out egr fully and exhaust thing mdf ?, does not seem to roar away but is ok for 2.5 diesel i suppose, i was lucky with swirl flaps slight cracking ready to break off, i was told not to remap as gearbox would soon go not built for more than 400 nm, thank you all iwill repost new year when rest is done

Good morning all .keep getting info, dont know who is right .can i do economy remap some say should not as gearbox engine will bw week to much strain , and secondly egr removal all blanks ,some say it will show eml light. i wish to do egr first, full service done and swirl flaps gone,pick sup better but mileage wise 44 on run in town 28 mpg , not worried but wondering if this is correct on 145000 mile bmw 525d 2004 full service history, any thoughts on this ,

  7. hello,just removed flaps on 525d 2004 , egr was clean, only light dusting in manifold, seems to pull and pick up quicker, full take off egr and blank cooler etc,after holiday, reurning small 22mm blanks as it was the bigger ones, was going to do economy remap, but you tube guy says not to remap as gearbox will go, any thoughts ?
