  1. Thanks. Yeah, its a strange one. Not all that important on the seats because it is immaculate in the flesh. I just wanted to point it out incase people were looking and thinking "JESUS!". I have some tailored seat covers coming to the house so i can keep the leather in the same nick. I sometimes have the dog in the car too and there are no claws in this car.
  2. Hi All, I have just recently bought a 530d. Its a 2003 530d e39 with 114k on it. Car in question: I have already changed filters including crank case oil breather, I have Mobil 1 oil coming home today and will be changed tomorrow, I have sorted all sensors that were faulty, I have changed the Angel eyes to white LEDs, I am going to look at and if not done yet remove the swirl flaps. Anything else i need to do? I looked at decat-ing and EGR delete but these seem to have very mixed reviews. Decat seems to make a lot of cars fail their MOTs on emissions and if it is welded in then its not a quick swap over come MOT time. EGR delete is controversial in that some people say it doesnt help, its bad for the engine etc. Others say it helps the engine not to breath its own crap and it has improved economy and response, especially when cold. I dont know though. I am in 2 minds about those. Im not bothered about power, responsiveness or MPG (not because i dont care but because i am happy with how they are at the moment). My main concern is the cars health and reliability. Any thoughts on what i should do from here? Thanks, Kevin.
  3. I cant say for petrols or e60s as ive never driven them. But i have a 530d e39 and you wouldnt be disappointed. I owned much newer Audi's and sold and got this for a fraction of the price and it is a completely different machine. My dad has a 730d e65 and it is amazing. Before that he had a 530d e39 (which inspired my purchase it was that good). He sold it with 240,000 miles on it. If the e60 is a better drive then it must be really good. I am more than happy with my e39, especially considering how much it cost. I think that with the cheapest e60 530d being 6k+ and the economy of petrols being half of the diesel, they are necessary and very small compromises. It depends on your circumstances though. Not really what you asked but just incase its of any help :)
  4. Hi all, just sold my Audi B7 A4 S-line and replaced it with a 2003 530d. It is an immaculate example with 114k miles on it. I've just changed the filters including crank case breather, bought some Mobil 1 oil for an oil change, changed the angel eyes To white, egr delete, decat. Plan is to keep her clean and reasonably oem. It has already been lowered by factory or otherwise by the looks... What do you think of her? I am very happy so far. My dad had a pre facelift which I loved and he has a 730d. Just the noise and feel of those inspired me to switch from thee Audi side. Cheers. Pics below with a couple of my recently sold Audi: The drivers seat looks very dirty/discoloured but it must be the light as the two front seats are both like new and look the same..
