Fuel Leak?

Hi all, When I fill my car to the first click with diesel, I noticed it leaks fuel for a while. If I fill it to just under full all is ok. Anyone come across this problem as well?

Guest Mister Dabsy

It could be the breather pipe that runs up along the filler... May just need tightening (although some have the breather running inside the filler).

Maybe check the sender unit for leaks where it attaches to tank... HTH ;)

Thanks Dabsy, I think you might have something with the breather pipe because it only ever leaks when its filled right up. Any idea how I get to the breather pipe to check if its loose?

Yup, sounds like what Dabsy said or a small leak in the connection between the tank and the filler cap which is not obvious when your filling as the flow of the fuel is fast enough not to leak through.

Either way, worth a look yourself! follow the advice Dabsy gave above. I would.
