E46 318Ci Holding Back A Liitle :( Any Ideas?

Hi i have just bort my first bmw its a e46 318ci on a 51 plate the engine management is on and it seems to hold back a little it does it mostly under 1800 rpm

Anybody got any ideas what could be the problem

    Hello and welcome to our community. It would be great if you could introduce yourself along with some pictures in our new members thread

    First thing's first is to give the engine bay a good scrub, and during the service (Recommended for a second hand vehicle of that age) look for vacuum leaks in pipes/plastic connectors
