Hello all! I want an armrest in my car, Adams compact has one and he's said I can have it :D His is a 97 an mines a 2000. Does anyone know if its possible? Do I need to swap the whole centre console? Or can I just take the back section from his where the armrest attaches? Thanks in advance!

Usually if the arm rest is attached to the seat you CAN install them from another donor seat but it is labour intensive. Like the seat, the centre console can also be swapped but again, labour intensive.

Ultimately, If you didn't want to dedicate the time needed to remove super glue from your paint work you will definitely not want to take on this task as the benefits don't balance out with the labour unless your a dedicated spanner head :)

If you DO want to take on the task, I'LL ASSIST but that's simply because I find it hard to say no when something interesting is to be done..

LOL! Your right Daz, I am lazy :D It wasn't that I didn't want to spend the time with the glue. I didn't want to spend the money on an angle grinder and everything else you listed!

I thought the armrest was attached to the centre console just like in mine so you would there for be able to swap them over ??

It is Dave, but his centre console is different to mine so I didn't know if i needed to take the whole console or if i could just take the armrest.

Just take it all :)

Pull it all out, and drop that sh*t in like it's hot!
