keep looking at these, does anyone know if there any good or are they a load of bo**ocks? if there any good what else would be needed to complete the conversion other than a new ecu?

Hey Johnny,

I was considering a kit like this for my M50 conversion. I imagine they will indeed do the trick but I wouldn't expect a kit such as that one to last if regularly pushed to the limit.

so in your experience they will work a treat with the right computer? just the parts wont be to the best quality?

Ive been across a few BMW forums asking questions regarding this kit as I was looking into it myself and Ive been warned away from them and told itd be better to take the car to a turbo conversion specialist and let them do it from scratch with their own parts etc,and at least if anything goes wrong you can take it back to them to get it right :) hope this helps :)

thats a valid point but, i can imagine that be in the ££££'s i have a friend whos a mechanic who would do a lot of the work for me. that doesnt get me a warranty no but it makes the conversion a whole lot cheaper. when you were warned away what were the main reasons? cheap poor quality parts?

Yeah pretty much, and the fact that it isnt going to be just a simple 'conversion kit install'. theres much more to turbo'ing a BMW engine than just doing that, such as an ECU remap (300 quid),manifold would prob need to be sorted out, exhaust sorted (as more power/turbo will need better gas removal = bigger exhaust and manifold),also if you can get it fitted, youve got all the power to go with but what ya gonna have to stop the beast.....standard brakes ?? So brakes would need upgrading,as well as suspension etc, also not forgetting this bit they added to it.....

.Application,

Note 1: This is a close to complete turbo kit, additional items will require when install.

Note 2: Item colors might vary from picture depending on the stock availability, we will try our best to fullfill your request.

Note 3: Additional Welding and Modification require for the best result.

Note 4: No instructions included. Professional installation is highly recommended.

......what 1,3,4 say should be enough to put any sensible person off !!
