Radio Reception Poor

Hi,

I am having problems with the radio reception; FM fine but AM/LW rubbish. Having just bought a '53 320i SE, I don't know where anything is (too tight to buy a workshop manual!).

1. Is anyone familiar with the problem?

2. Where is the ariel; been advised rear screen but unless part of the demister, not obviously there!

3. Is there a radio signal amp and if so where is it located?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Okey dokey. The ariel amplifier on the E46 saloon is located in the near side rear roof pillar.

The problem was a loose connection between the amp and the co-ax lead to the radio. Tightened up and Five live reigns!!

Thanks for your help. :D
