Lol tell me about it!! Have pulled both traction control & abs relays and fuses, just waiting for battery to charge n see what the damage is.... Hoping it will start but as it made lots of funny noises lost all power and had to be towed, it don't look good :-( fingers crossed!!!

sounded like an army of pellets through cat (new) knockin from engine loads of smoke from exhaust, battery charged now, turns over but no fire, will do a compression test in the next day or two..... personally i think a piston has a gaping hole in it :-(

has anyone a very large hammer i can borrow!!

whats the going rate for a recon unit lads?

thanks for your help n thought............

Right, just woke up..... Ran a compression test ( on removal, all plugs were very black & covered in what looked like burnt oil ((only bought em a week ago)))

most cylinders were running between 10 & 11 but cylinder 1 = 9 and cylinder 6 = 8

will retest with a drop of oil once battery charged up again to see if rings gone, either way its a head off job!!!

oh and cylinders 5 & 6 both had oil over the spark plugs ( not from rocker cover )

Gawd I hate cars!!!

Seen worse result, not too sure why it wouldnt fire tbh.just because two were down on compression the other four would still fire....be it a tad rough!

2nd hand units are about 400-500 quid.

:-) if ya had seen the plugs you would understand why they wouldn't fire, might as well have wrapped the electrodes in leccy tape!! Lol

I'm just praying it's only the head gasket gone n flooded engine with oil, unlikely as water fine.... What a headache!!

Might be worth boring it out to a 3.0 whilst appart??

And an addition of a supercharger maybe!? Nah, now I'm dreaming!! Lol

Can anyone recomend a trustworthy & reliable company to fit a fully rebuilt engine for me?

been searching for hours & always get knocked back by reviews.....

Oh found this site which could be of great use to anyone wanting to work on their zim zimmer......
