No Rev Counter No Onboard Computer

Hey people im new to this forum.. i dont own a x5 but my friend does! and has a problem

his battery went flat so we chrged it up and now his rev counter does not work and the onboard computer (that tells you how long you got until a service) its not working either..

both was working before the battery died..

anyone seen this problem before
