BMW 318i estate 1999 S reg, had airbag light on since bought the car nearly 2 weeks ago, when stopped in traffic yesterday the front 2 airbags just went off (lucky was'nt driving) has anyone come across this problem b4. Spoke to bmw and they said never heard of it but spoke to local bmw specialist and had heard of it but not seen it. So rather confused with this.

has the car been any accidents before and repaired?

I personally have never heard of it, but very scary situation to be in if driving, good job you weren't.

yeah like i said conflicting stories some have heard of it and some never heard of it, I dont think it its been in any sort of bump cant see any repair and have done hpi check on car just puzzelling.

I think the best thing to do if you ever see the airbag light is stop and call recovery. This procedure should be for any car.

Not worth the risk
