F31 engine noise

I've recently purchased a F31 and noticed some strange noises from the car.


First is the ticking sound from the engine, worse when cold but still audible when warm.


Second is a almost whine noise when pulling away in 1st and 2nd gear only, as soon as you stop accelerating the noise stops or if you take it out of gear. 


I've tried to capture this with my gopro, any thoughts on the noises?
