Good afternoon is someone in scotland help me headlights no working a think by remplace from p owner angel eye work thanks

Morning David

First does the cars on board diagnostic give you any clues? You say you think a previous owner changed the lights, what do you think is changed?

Check high and low beam bulbs, check all fuses, if the light units have been changed are the connections correct? Has any wiring been altered? If the lights have been changed from conventional to HID with ballast the control module in the footwell  could be damaged through overload.

No get any foulds bulbs remplace the angels eyes and indicators is the only works dont is need to code it have bimmercode

Sorry David having trouble following

If I understand the above, the indicator and angel eye bulbs have been replaced and work. So have you checked the Headlamp bulbs? Have you checked the fuses and relays? If you have bimmercode check the LCM for faults

The angel lights and indicators work fine. On the lockdown I’m not getting any faults. The car now has zenon headlight but not sure if they were standard lights before I bought the car. So the guy I bought the car from think he has changed them to zenons. Do I need to code the zenon lights?

Morning David

OK first the wiring for HID/Xenon lamps is different due to the high voltages involved, so you need to check that they are wired correctly and the correct ballast's are fitted (are they OEM or aster market).Check fuses and Relays.

Second as the LCM (light control module) in the footwell may well be toast, if not yes I would think it will need coding.

Look at wwww.realoem.com it is a BMW parts site put the last 7 digits of your vin into the search box it will bring up your model. Check the light section it will show which parts are/were interchangable, make sure the part numbers match the stuff on your car.

Also look at www.newtis.info this one is a BMW Technical site which will help with fitting and any other information, coding etc.

Good Luck

Dave
