DPF

Recommended Posts

Hello Everyone. As you may already know, I'm new to BMW's and also new to Turbo Diesels. So I apologise if I'm askingbasic questions!  I travel about 1.5 miles to work and 1.5 miles back home 4-5 days a week. I might cover another 20-30 miles on top of the 12-15 already mentioned. So30-45 a week. All these miles just cruising below 2500 revs. This is more often than not the bulk of my driving. I have been told by my son who has only ever driven TD's that I need to take it out on a drive and give it a bit of 'welly' to clean out the DPF. Is this correct and if so; how often and for how long?
