Hi,

I was lucky enough to have owned an M3 conv new back in 1997! So, I bought a 1995 Daytona Violet conv yesterday, looking to re live my M3 days.

I took a massive punt on an EBay car, viewed it, had a gut feel it was going to be trouble but bought it (quite cheaply) anyway.

So, now having a bit of time and removing my rose tinted spectacles I have a long list of things I need to get sorted, from mechanical to electrical then cosmetic.

Question is... Who do I go to who's not going to have my pants down £££££££'

Welcome Gary. I suppose it depends on what needs doing. If you can do some of it yourself then great. If you cant, do you have a local Indy you can trust.

Best bet is to let us know what needs doing and we can see if we can help.

Well theres a long list I made yesterday night, some are cosmetic things which I can do on an ongoing basis, however others are more important.

I had the wheels blanced yesterday as the steering really vibrated over 50mph, that hasnt fixed it so front end needs looking at. Getting 1st gear and reverse is tricky, so possible clutch replcement im thinking.

The roof also needs replacing and the electrics seem to play up, heater, computer, stereo etc.

Not a lot you can do about the cluch apart from bleeding the hydrolics which may help.

If it is just the steering wheel vibrating then the issue is the front end. If the whole car is vibrating it suggests the rear wheel balancing. You may need some bushes replacing.

If the car has spent much of its life parked outside damp may have got into the electrics. It would be worth pulling all the fuses and replacing. Pulling all the block connectors apart and then cleaning if neccessary. Some oxidation may have set in.

Good luck with it
