I have had the car a month and within a week the engine management light went on, right after the oil light, and after a full diagnostics there are no faults showering. They dumped the oil that was in the car and have put new oil in, however the issue I had was the oil check on the dash kept jumping up and down at various intervals, which confused me as to what my oil level was! Seeing as the oil sensor appears to be ok, they took the cover off the bottom of the engine to reveal there was oil everywhere. They initially thought I had overfilled the oil but since have said it is something in the engine. They didn't have time to strip the engine as I needed the car back so I have booked it in to the garage that sold it to me. When I left the garage who did the diagnostics etc they said that the car is burning oil somewhere due to the smoke that came from the exhaust, it only seems to be when pulling off and goes away as I go up the gears and gain speed. At the end of my tether with this one as I've only just got it.

have you checked the crankcase breather if they block can cause excesive pressure in the sump and blow oil out and the engine to smoke
