Hi to Everyone here :-)

I've been a BMW owner for about 15 years now - purchased a new 323iSE imported new from Holland many moons ago, and disposed of it some 280,000 miles later last week. Extremely reliable and smooth running car, really pleased, we'd been through a lot together :-)

Last week bought a second hand 318D 2.0 M Sport Step Touring on a 61 plate, 60k miles on the clock, mint condition, really liking it a lot so far. This time an automatic. Purchased from Car Giant for less than £12k, for a car that retails new at around £33k. Incredible.

I'm based in Devon and will doubtless have many journeys around the country in the forthcoming months and years.

I'd considered other marques but my old BMW had won my loyalty. I used to own an Audi Coupe, 2.5 litre V6 which was a lovely car to drive, superb engine but I experienced so many problems - 2 catalytic converters failed, waterpump failed, alternator failed ... and the cam belt cost a fortune to replace as it involved open heart surgery to replace it seems.

Haven't joined any sites before so keen to see what can be gleaned here.
