Hi guys

I'm new here and new to BMWs too.

I recently bought a very tidy 520i SE from 2002 (E39)

My recant car was a Citroen C6 which I loved to pieces - quirky, quiet, comfortable and decent power, ideal for cruising or 'wafting' around in.

Unfortunately after 4 years of ownership and approaching 100,000miles I decided to move it on before it stung me too badly, preferring to be able to look back on the ownership as a good period. I was dogged with front suspension issues from ball joints to FRIP joints and also had problems with the headlights which were 1K a pop.

So I owned a Civic S for a bit (just moved to Yorkshire, thought it would be fun on the moors!) and after driving a big car again I decided it was time to get back into a barge!!

So the 520 is lovely, very smooth and quiet, just what I was after. It's done very low miles for its age and hopefully will prove a reliable and long term ride.

I'll leave you with a picture of my C6 and one of the new car. You probably know but the colour is 'liquid blue' which I think is stunning.

Please take the pic of the C6 down, it can only be you and Daz that are fans of it on this forum, but your E39 looks nice they are a great car and huge value for money now days.

Thanks guys.

I know the C6 divides opinion but that's what's great about it. Now I have the 520 I do think the auto box in the C6 was a bit jumpy in comparison, especially changing from 1st to 2nd.
