I am about to do the swirl flap delete on my 2003 (52) 3.0d X5 auto, can someone confirm the size? I think they will be the 22mm ones but not sure when they changed over to the larger ones (32mm I believe?)....thanks in advance.

im 99% sure e53's don't have swirl flaps mate, only 3.0d that doesn't if im not mistaken

All E53 automatics 3.0d's have them buddy, some of the petrol manual box ones don't, no matter now anyway I'm gonna strip it.

On further investigation, some say they don't so you could be right, sorry mate :(

Few that's what I was told so haven't checked, definitely going to check now though as you've put the ceed of doubt in my head and last thing I want or need is an engine rebuild on my hands! I'm lucky I work at a main dealer fiat garage so got a nice warmish workshop to do it in! I had to change the battery on the roadside the other day though due to it failing and that was cold with no light in the pitch black! Let's hope none of us have the !Removed! flaps
