Hi there I just bought a e36 323 as a bit of a toy and to learn how to drift as well but I no they fail on drive shafts occasionally, wasn't sure if someone could help me and give me a list of driveshafts that will fit or even a stringer driveshaft I can buy so it's uprated, sorry of it's a re post but any help is appreciated, Richard

Hey Richard,

I'm not familiar with E36s popping driveshafts?

You would need to push the motor to the limit in order to twist/snap a driveshaft and if there are any common faults reported, it's down to bushes like the coupling doughnut rubber connecting it to the tran or the rear bearing.

I honestly don't think you need to concern yourself with the matter until such fault occurs.

Hi Richard,

Never heard of driveshaft faults when drifting E36's. What you want to look out for is the diff and trailing arm bushes and the condition of the diff subframe. Also engine mounts as I have seen a few comments about these letting go and your engine can end up sitting on your steering rack which is never good haha.
