I am about to buy my first X5 this week and there appears to be a problem with the parking sensors not working. Can anyone tell me how many sensors there are front and rear assuming they are fitted in the first place?

Thanks

Not entirely sure but I'm sure an enthusiastic auto-leccy on here should be able to help soon :) good luck

Welcome btw

Daz

Hi Steve you have 4 sensors both in the front and rear bumpers, it only take 1 sensor to be faulty to break the circuit, PDC is standard on an E53.

In needs putting on a launch code reader to see which sensors are faulty and there is no need to buy them from BMW you can buy them on e-bay for around £70 for a pack of four.

Enjoy your new wheels mate.

Hi. Thanks for both of your replies. I picked up my first X5 yesterday and it runs like a dream. Although I have owned numerous 3 & 5 series in the 1980's & 90's and more recently Landrovers and just got rid of a Jeep Grand Cherekee in part ex for my X5, this machine is awesome with the 19 inch alloys.

The rear sensors appear to be working but not the front, for some reason? Perhaps I am better buying a new set on EBay. are they easy to fit, if so, hoe do I go about it?

Also, can anyone let me know what the hug box is for in the middle of the interior ceiling? It look like a DVD/TV system but there are no screens in the headrests, but I have found a ROSEN remote control, which belong to it.

Any ideas please?

Thanks

Steve
