Headrests Dvd Players

Hi,

I just bought a headrest DVD player and (obviosly) i need to change my headrests now, on a 320d from 2010. The model I've got its the basic "efficientDynamics" one, but when I opened the seat covers for the wiring, I noticed the seats have in place the heating "mechanism", pretty sure this wasn't in the spec, I mean - don't have the necessary buttons anywhere in the car for that. There is also a wire going through one of the standing poles, in the headrest, looks like its not that easy to take that one out and replace it with the DVD player.

My questions are: 1) if anyone have any idea, can I "hook" in those wires for power up the DVD player? and 2) what's the deal with the wire that goes to the headrest, is it safe to just take it our or something?

Or do I really have to find some auto-electrician to do the fitting?

I know that maybe those are some really daft questions for many of you guys, I'm obviously not that skilled in car DIYing or something like that, was just looking for some hints, maybe anyone can point me ion the right direction.

Cheers

Connect them to a voltmeter and press some buttons to see if owt happens !

Thanks for your answer, I just found out today that the E90 has something called "active headrests", which I have fitten on mine. No idea if that's standard for all E90s, but I know mine is the "bare" modell, no add-ons or anything. Went to a car garage and as soon as the guy saw the car he said "mate, its not going to be an easy or a cheap job".

Tha being said, nothing for me to do but sell the DVD player on eBay as I already ordered an iPad mount and that's that :)

Next time I'll have the urge to buy something on eBay for the car, I'll do some proper research before...
