Hi guys. Iv just joined today. I'm from fife in Scotland. Is there anyone local to me that could recommend a good bmw servicing around me and roughly how much it is to service one ? This is my first bmw so don't know much yet :). I have a 530d msport if it helps on a price estimate for servicing. Thanks

A warm welcome to you Jake. I'm a southern softy down on the South coast in Dorset, so obviously don't know anyone local, but there have been a lot of people from your neck of the woods join the club recently, so hopefully someone will pick your thread up and be of help. Don't pay main dealer prices - over £100 per hour labour for starters!

Thanks for you reply :). Yeh I hope they will aswell. How much do you roughly pay for even just the servicing parts and oil? So I make sure the garage I go into doesn't try play me with the extra money for BMW parts lol

An Oil and filter service at a main dealer will cost you around £140. That is just oil and filter and service indicator reset. Inspection Service about £220, but all needed parts extra. At a BMW specialist but not main dealer, knock off about £50 and £70 respectively. BMW main dealer will only use BMW parts, specialist will say BMW parts are best, but OEM parts perfectly acceptable on 2006 car, about half the price.

Thanks for all the great info there jeffthro. I will be sure to look out a specialist rather than my closest dealer as the prices differ completely
