  2. Good morning Dave Thanks for the reply, towing it isn't in my best interest I would like to get it running. And the parts car runs it just has no title which is why it's a part out car, which is good for me. I did a little research on the ews immobilizer code I got and that seems to be where my problem lies. Considering it ran one minute and not the next, and it's the code it's throwing. As both fuel and spark systems stopped working. I will check all the sensors as well I know bmws can be weird if they aren't getting signals from maf or others. My 135i was a similar case to this one and it was just a maf sensor. I opened the Schrader valve and tested fuel pressure it had plenty of pressure and flow. I don't know why that would knock out spark too though. I'm just not really sure how to fix the ews fault there isn't a ton of support for this car. I had a hard time even finding a fuse diagram. I am going this Friday to try again so any help with fixing that code would also be appreciated. Thanks

  4. My 320d has wireless charging, however my s24 ultra doesn't seem to like it I have had a "phone too hot remove from charger" error (from the phone) once or it simply does seem to get much of a charge. The LED goes blue when I put it in the tray. Advice appreciated. Rich
  5. Hi All, Just purchased a 320d M Sport Xdrive Touring 2019 40,000 miles. £25k. Really liking the car, I was trying to get A4 Avant Quattro but struggling to find one I liked/right price. Tried the 320 and decided to go for it, purchased from main dealer so probably paid over the odds but at least it's fresh MOT and serviced with one year warranty and free boot liner and dog guard thrown in. But cheesed off they didn't top up AdBlue or fit the dog guard properly. Two quick questions: Is my model G21? Do they still do/where would I find the sticker that lists the options the car comes with (in my old Golf it was in the spare wheel well)? Cheers Rich
  6. Afternoon Darren Just your BMW telling you that you needed a Dealers help 😅 Or hoping to scare you into their arms Try a Parking Brake reset, as you only changed pads a Soft Reset should work Turn on the ignition. Hold down the parking sensor button for 3-5 seconds until you hear a beep. Release the button, and the system will reset Hope that does it for you Dave
  7. Morning Hans Having a Parts car close by is a major win (providing it hasn't got the same issue 😁) The rev counter gets a signal from the DDE which gets signals from the CPS FPS and Cam sensors the sensor only needs to be loose or a degree out, Test it and or change it (but test the replacement first) As you're so far away I would either get the car transported (my preference), or go ready for anything. That means at least 1 fully charged battery/booster pack. Start with a full scan (INPA/ISTA will show all faults for each system) check all sensors MAF, MAP, TBPS, FPS, CPS. Cam sensors test continuity on the loom for coil packs and injectors. Check/change the fuel pump relay. From your description you say no fuel or spark, all the above will have an effect there. If all those are OK then you are back to the Hope this helps Dave As an after thought make sure the fuel filter isn't clogged. Plus check out the EWS fault you half saw

  9. Thanks for the reply Dave. This car is over 5 hours away from me so thr next trip I make needs to be the one I take it home haha. The obf2 I'm using is an mhd tuner off of my 135i with protool. I got it to connect once but stupidly disconnected it. The only code it was throwing was a immobilizer I don't remember which one. Also the conditions of the car breaking down were while driving happened 3 times than didn't start again, at least that's what I was told. So my assumption was a bmw system that controlled efi and spark ignition. As far as the cps if I was reading rpm while cranking would that not rule it out. It also did not throw a code for it when I had it connected. But I couldn't read actual position data since i couldn't connect. The owner replaced the fuel pump in an attempt to get it running so I know the pressure us there but there is absolutely no fuel coming out the cylinders or onto spark plugs. I luckily found a complete part out car 10 miles away from it. So a list of potential problems I could try would be much appreciated. Thanks Hans
  10. Hi , Just replaced rear pads on my f25 , now i have a message saying parking break failure , do i need to reset anything ? , or could i have mist something .
  11. Afternoon Hans Welcome to the Forum I would start with a Diagnostic Scan but then I do have ISTA/INPA on my lap top. Without it I would start by testing the sensors that will effect fuel and spark. Number one Crank position sensor if it is faulty no signal to the DME no signal to the injectors. While testing sensors Fuel Pressure sensor next, while the fuel rail is pressurised is it correct if the pressure sensor is dead the DME will assume no fuel present. Also carefully check the loom to injectors and coil packs not unknown for it to be damaged. Try a Google search for test parameters for the sensors. Also check engine earth straps Hope this helps Dave
  12. Morning Robin Welcome to the Forum By the sound of things you need a coil over kit for standard ride height with adjustable shocks. Playing with bump and rebound settings should allow a more supple ride, though wheels and tyres are a big part of the overall equation. Bilstien are a well established reliable name that has been around for years so if the kit has been developed for the car should be a good choice, lots of other kits out there with a wild price range but personally suspension tyres and brakes really are not worth cutting corners with. Dave
  13. Hello all. I have a 2019 M Sport+ 440i. I am looking for suggestions to upgrade the suspension. I do not want it lower or stiffer. I am looking for more control, predictability and less harshness. At under 20k miles, there are no faults with the factory suspension, I believe it could be better. I don't drive the car hard, its more like fast touring. I am aware of the Bilstein system that Birds BMW have developed, does anyone have experience of this system? Any alternative suggestions would be appreciated.
  14. I recently purchased a 2008 650i with a crank no start problem. There is no spark or fuel. The fuel rail is pressurized but injectors are not firing. I replaced the ivm cause it will cause a similar no start but nothing changed. I checked relays but couldn't find one for fuel Injection or spark. I couldn't see codes cause my reader was having a hard time connect. But there was rpm when cranking so I assume the cps is fine. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.
  15. Morning Rob Welcome to the Forum As with most cars in reasonable condition and with an MOT it is worth the market value, check the Auction sites and local adds. Without an MOT it is scrap value as it can't be driven some recyclers may even charge to collect it. Reading your post it seems like you have already made a decision. Personally I would fix it and sell it or maybe carry on using it but then I do all my own maintenance on our cars and its a hobby not a chore Dave
  16. Thanks Dave, will have a look sooner than expected!
  17. Morning Joe Not sure about "nothing urgent" one can stop the car starting at all, and the other could indicate overheating that could end in a broken engine !!! Dave
  18. Morning Clifford Welcome to the Forum If you are not aware take a look at www.realoem.com put the last 7 digits of your Vin into the search box, it will bring up your model then look in the Exhaust section The only part I am aware of BMW call a "fixing Bow" it goes on the rear silencer flap actuator assembly Good luck Dave

  20. I am new to site and just bought a used 2017 330i xdrive. I was going through the engine trying to get to know it a little and I found a resonator assembly clip sitting near the resonator but connected to nothing so I’m trying to figure out where it goes? There is already one connected to the intake tubes so I can’t figure out where it went or where it goes? 13-71-8-637-816 - Resonator Assembly Clip 2017-2023 BMW | Braman BMW & MINI Parts.pdf
  21. Hi all, I have an 04 525d that I’m looking to get rid of. It has been well used and served me well but unfortunately I’m not willing to spend any more on it due to the age. It has 185,000 on the clock and recently failed it’s MOT due to perished ball joints. my question is, is it worth trying to mess about and sell it or just scrap it? any advice would be greatly appreciated. cheers
  22. Thanks for the reply Dave, I'll have a nose around when I get the chance. As long as it's nothing urgent. Cheers
  23. Thanks Dave, will enquire further. Thanks for the reply.
  24. Morning Kev Welcome to the Forum I am aware that the plastic return pipe (Header Tank to Rad) on the E53 became very brittle and was easily damaged. I replaced mine with 10mm Copper Tube after a long wait for replacement. But I was not aware, or haven't heard of X3 issues here in the UK I guess that you will need more from US based owners Dave
  25. Hi, quick query if anyone has experienced this issue. Purchased an X3 S drive 20I brand new, delivered on the 18/3/2020. All services conducted when required by dealer. Last service (major) was done on the 9/4/24. Approx 1 week later coolant leak was discovered. Vehicle towed to dealer, cause was cracked coolant pipe . Informed part would take 2 week delivery time ( ex Germany) at cost of $800. Vehicle has just under 30,000 on clock. Any input greatly appreciated. Thanks
  26. Good to know Dave, Thanks! If I can't use them on the fob I'll put em on something. Here Kitty Kitty:)
  27. Hi Joe If memory serves 2e41 is bad communication between the EWS and DDE the other 2e47 is Thermostat or Sensor related. Looks like that sorts your weekend Dave
  28. Sorry of mentioned before, started car this morning and was fluctuating a little on idle. Completely fine after a few mins. Though I'd scan the car anyway and found errors 2e47 and 2e41 stored. They are intermittent and once cleared, don't come back for a while but I thought I'd check in case it was something to worry about? E87 118d N47 Cheers, Joe
  29. Been a while, forgot to update sorry. Turned out to be the belt tensioner pulley at fault, bearing was goosed. Hope this helps some people.
