I put my X3 to bed with 2300 miles remaining until the oil needed changing according the car"s information system.

Today, one week later, I started the car to be informed that the car need an oil change as soon as possible. What has happened to the 2300 miles I had left? Tomorrow I need to go on a journey covering about 1000 miles when I shall be returning for a pre-booked service at the dealer. Is this going to have bad effects on my car?

How long has it been since the last change? theres two timers ones milage and ones a date which ever happens first, could be the problem.

Also if your gonna cover 1K it might be worth doing beforehand, its very simple to actually do it yourself .
