Well autumn is here & time to reflect on the events of summer.
It's been a fantastic summer & autumn as we all know, but particularly for owners of open top cars. I've been out practically every day in them, through the Dales & the Forest of Bowland are my favorite rides, stopping for a pint & butty, but unfortunately that's now coming to an end.
The BMW has performed faultlessly & been a real "head turner", I've had many people come up & ask about the car, one "gentleman" said it wasn't natural for radiators to be as clean as mine & "I should get a life"!! I just smiled, but did drop the clutch at high revs & leave two black rubber trails as I left the pub as a sign of rebellion to him.
We holiday'd in Barcelona in August, which was fantastic, but secretly couldn't wait to get home & out in those cars again, I don't know how I'm going to get through the winter. What's going to make it even more difficult is my eldest son has just moved to San Francisco, to join all the other electronic geeks there, the weather is perfect almost all year round & is a car drivers paradise, he's ultra keen on cycling & I follow his rides on Strava (an application), the countryside & mountains around the "Bay" area look stunning & I'm thinking I should be out there with my open tops, "wondering now", how much ££ to transport a car to California?
I see there have been over 1400 visits to this post, I hope people have found it mildly interesting & thought I should conclude it in some way & "wrapping up the cars for winter" seems to do that.
I'll add to this if anything interesting crops up, or when I'm up & running next year......meantime thanks & happy motoring.

Well it's been 4.5 weeks since Oliver's prom and I started driving the car.
During this time the weather has been so good up here I've been out practically every day, driving in the Dales, a pint and butty for lunch, it's been heavenly. Checked my mileage yesterday and realised I've covered 1250 miles in this time, when I insured the car I did so for 1500 miles/yr! Telephone call to the insurers on my to-do list!
Happy days

Done.
Just been for a beautiful drive on part of the route through the Yorkshire Dales the Tour de France will be taking on Saturday, very close to where I live, stopped for a pint of Timothy Taylor's naturally. The car is absolutely fantastic, as good as the day I picked it up from the dealer, I can hardly believe it.
Need a new project.

This might be the only good thing that comes out of the World cup for us Brits!!
Good discount so will stock up for the future as I use both Magnatec & Edge in my cars.

Pump on it's way out or are you not using the BMW screenwash which contains an anti-bacterial agent, it stops the development of algae in the pump, pipes & small orifices, might be worth trying this.
