  1. Hi, Can any one advise the procedure for removing a damaged front offside wing and replace it with a new one on a 2002 316i? Thanks in advance
  2. Hi, I have a 2001 320ci with the 6 cylinder motor and auto transmission with just over 60k miles. I can't find any reference to oil changeing etc. for the auto box and differential in the BMW service schedule. Can anyone advise please?
  3. Hi, I have a 2001 320ci and the reversing lights have ceased to work. Bulbs are all ok and no warning signs have come up on the dash. I suspect there must be a microswitch or sensor of some kind that has failed. Can anyone please advise where it might be located and how to replace it? Many thanks in advance Al.
  4. Can anyone advise at what mileage the belt driving the water pump, alternator, a/c unit etc should be changed on my 2001 320ci as I can't find any reference to it in the service info or in the car's handbook. Mine has done close to 59k miles and still looks ok so should I change it now? Many thanks for any advice. PS: thanks allso for earlier advice on control arm bushes and handbrake adjustment, now all done.
  5. Hi, Can anyone adviise how to adust up the handbrake? Mine is currently not holding the car unless I virtually pull it up to the vertiical position, which I think will be an MOt failure. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
  6. Thanks Gav for the very clear info.. Looks pretty straightforward with no specialist tools required so will definitely have a go myself. Cheers.
  7. Wow, thanks guys for the superfast response. Look forward to seeing the "how to" post. Ommitted to mention the reason for asking is that the car has recently developed a slight, fairly fast steering wheel wobble when slowing down, with or without braking. I've had the car from new and it has only just covered 50K and always been very stable and tight in handling and so was wondering if this could be the cause (have the usual checks like wheel balancing / alignment and front discs which BMW said were within spec). cheers
  8. Hi, new to the site. I have a 2001 320C1 which recently attracted an advisory note on its last MOT at a BMW main dealer which said " some wear on front lower control arm brackets" The printed estimate for the replacement parts listed quantity 1 "set of bushes and Br..." and quantity 8 "screws" and a bill of £230 +vat for the work. Can anyone advise what these are, their location and how easy a diy job it is. I have some basic mechanical skills and do my own routine servicing, brakes etc so would like to do the job myself if possible. Many thanks for any info received
