  1. Hi, I'm looking at a replacement load cover for my E91 as the return springs in the roller are shot and it doesn't hold in place. I'm looking for a good used one, preferably in grey, and I've been offered one from an early 2005/6 model. my car is post facelift 2011 model. Does anyone know if this part was the same fit for all year models? Thanks for any help. Chris.
  2. The rear tyres on my E36 convertible are unevenly worn, both almost bald on the inside edges and still loads of tread on the outsides. Could this simply be a tracking issue of could it be something more? It's hard to tell but there appears to be a little negative camber on the rear wheels. Is this normal or has something been modified by a previous owner, and could this be causing the uneven wear? Thanks for any help/advice.
  3. Thanks Bruce, you've confirmed pretty much what I thought. I'm thinking 15% is what I should go for. Thanks also Geoff, however the law only covers windscreen and front doors. Rear of the car can be as dark as you like.
  4. I'm looking at getting the rear doors and boot area tinted on my E91. Not sure how dark to go, I'd like darker than factory tints but not completely black, I'm thinking somewhere between 15% - 20%. Can anyone offer any advice here? Anyone got any recommendations for where to go in the Berkshire area, or how much I should expect to pay? Thanks for any help.
  5. Just a little update.... the E36 as she now looks following a little TLC over the winter.... and the newly acquired E91 for everyday use.... Since buying the E36 it was only a matter of time before the daily driver Mondeo was replaced. And even the wife likes it - last night I caught her on Autotrader looking at 1 series!
  6. Thanks for the info :) At the moment I'm after a couple of switches, some bits of trim and front disks & pads. I'm happy to take a punt on ebay for the switches and trim but is it worth sourcing genuine, maybe even dealer parts for the brakes? All advice welcome as I'm new to this and can't really afford to get it wrong!
  7. Where's the best place to buy parts for an E36? There's a number of parts centres locally and I'm not adverse to using ebay or similar but just wondered if there's that 'great place' that you all get your parts from. Somewhere that knows their stuff and can advise if I need any extra bits to do something. Maybe even supply genuine BMW parts where needed. Thanks for any help.
  8. Or look here https://www.taxdisc.direct.gov.uk/EvlPortalApp/app/enquiry?execution=e6s1 Vehicle enquiry will tell you if, or when it was last, taxed. But again, not by who or where it is.
  9. Hi, I'm thinking about upgrading my stock lights to angel eyes. Seen lots of different kits available, both CCFL & LED. Or replace the whole light unit. Again lots of different options here, I'd like to retain a reasonably stock appearance with original indicators if poss. Not sure which way to go on this. Any advice or 'voices of experience' would be very welcome. Thanks :)
  10. Thanks for the welcomes. Just one piccy for now. If there's a nice day over the festive break I hope to give it a blast down to the coast and take some more somewhere a little more picturesque than my driveway.
  11. Hi, Another new member checking in.... I'm Chris and I've just become the pround new owner of an E36 convertible. I'm a big fan of the classic stuff really, but family life means I need something with a better degree of refinement & safety that is still fun to drive. So far it's a winner on both counts! It's my first experience of BMW ownership (well the Mrs did have a Mini for a while if that counts?) and although I'm only a few days into it, I'm a happy bunny so far. Overall she's pretty good for a 15 year old motor but there are a few little niggles to sort out so I'm sure I'll be on here asking advice a few times in the coming months. Looking forward to getting to know this place, Chris.
