I own a 1986 535i. Recently the power sunroof stopped working. It is about 1/2 inch open. my mechanic said the motor is working so the motor is not the problem. he said I may have to remove the headliner in order to gain access to the rail/gear mechanism. is there any easier way to diagnose/repair this problem. is this a common problem? any suggestions???
