  1. I guess not! A slight blemish on an otherwise lovely car. Not the quickest out there, but economy is more important to me. Got well over 60mpg down the M11/M25/M2 on the way back. Even the tobacco stains have come out of the roof liner with Autoglym Interior Shampoo!!!
  2. Well, I picked up my 58 plate 318d SE with 45000 on the clock today. This is the first BMW I've owned. The drive is great. It's so much more comfortable and refined than anything I've had before. Anyway. At the test drive I noted that the wing mirrors didn't adjust. No movement at all using the switch. Obvious cause, I thought, a blown fuse. So, today I got in, adjusted the seat, then tried to adjust the mirrors, having been told they'd been fixed. Movement up and down was fine, but they didn't move sideways. Then, a smell of burning circuit board appeared. I told the salesman, who obviously thought I was a novice, then as if to prove a point, pressed the button with gusto. Next thing a pyre of smoke appeared from the switch. He then apologised! Anyway, new switch ordered and a promise from the dealer, Marshall's of Cambridge (not BMW) to meet all costs to repair. Has anyone experience of this happening, or is it just unlucky?
