Any tips on what to look for, or known faults for the z3?

Hi all, I'm looking to buy my first z3, and was hoping for some advise. Obviously what should I look out for, known issues etc. Also as this will be my second car I will need to insure this with 0 no claims discount, as my 9 years are on the day to day car. I'm 30 and live near Wigan, any tips for cheap insurance, and ideas of what I would expect to pay? I'm looking at the 1.9 engine model soft or hard top. Thank you, Brian.
