From my 120d I'm averaging 48.7 @ 80-90 on the motorways, according to the trip, I get about 515miles from about 48 litres of devils juice, if I stick to 60-70 I get about 600 miles out of the 48 litres

Engine Cut Out
Have you read the hand book with regards to start stop? It will only work when: The car is up to operating temp, All occupants have their seat belts on The aircon is not on The ambient outside temperature is above 5* iirc The clutch pedal isn't depressed Daz, as soon as you depress the clutch the engine begins to start and by the time you've selected gear it's running so effectively you have power as soon as you hit the loud pedal

Tyres
I will shortly be getting a set of 19" wheels and tyres and I don't want the tyres, The sizes are 225/50 and 285/50, one pair are virtually brand new and thet other should be good for a couple of thousand miles, all are run flats and Michelin's Open to offers over £200 as the ones which are new will cost over this alone. Will update when I have the tyre so you know which tyres are the newer ones and I'll upload pictures and tread depths when I have them, hopefully by next weekend

Looks smart that does, the ones I was gonna try and get have already been bought, gits. I'm going hopefully going to look at some 19's tonight, 225/285's respectively, see what they look like up against the car, I think that's 8/9" front/rear

E39 M5 Clutch Replacement
Lol, no probs.

E39 M5 Clutch Replacement
I would have thought it would be hydraulic so there would be no way of adjusting it, easiest way of checking for clutch slip is to drive up a slight incline in a gear that is too high, ie 5/6 and if the revs go straight up but your speed doesn't increase then the clutch will need changing, another way to tell is by how high the pedal is off the floor before it bites, should be about half way for a good clutch

Advice On Run Flat Tyres
The run flats I've got on mine don't seem to be any worse than standard tyres, I can understand low pros being poo my sis had them on her mini and they were awful but normal depth side wall run flats no so much

530D Engine Swap In Another Car Anyone Done It
Where the prop meets the back of the gear box, if you can up load some picks of the box I'll have a look and see if I can spot it for you

530D Engine Swap In Another Car Anyone Done It
It all depends on the gearbox, if there is a speed sensor on the output shaft you don't need the abs but DO need a decent auto electrician to get it to run properly, if there isn't a sensor on the back of the box you will need to keep the abs and the gearbox ecu so you can use the gearbox. This is all based on the ASSUMPTION that the gearbox is electronically controlled, some older automatics use valves and gearbox oil pressure to decide what gear to select.

Yeh but the ecu's talk to each other and trade information via can-bus/can-communication links.

The abs sensors double up as speed sensors when used on the wheels

Does the BMW box use a torque converter, like I would presume your yank tank will, if so you could see about mating the Ford torque converter to the BMW flywheel and making an adaptor plate to put the Ford box on the BMW engine that way you won't have to worry about the abs, there are ways of making the engine run without the abs but you need to be quite a good auto sparky to do it
