!Removed! hell! i never would have thought it'd get that bad! :o while we are on the oil subject, what oil is best suited to that engine, look like mine, and i need to flush it now! also, i spotted a timing chain, does that mean no belt to change (and worry about) then? :D

thanks for the very warm welcomes guys :) i think, my first point of call is to do a good service (as i always do with a new car) change all the fluids etc... make sure she is running nice...
